કેરળના તિરુવનંતપુરમથી હાલના સાંસદ શશી થરૂર એક મંદિરમાં પૂજા દરમિયાન પડી ગયા. જેમાં તેમને ગંભીર ઈજા થઇ છે. તેમને સારવાર માટે તિરુવનંતપુરમના જનરલ હોસ્પિટલમાં દાખલ કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. તેમને માથા પર ગંભીર ઇજા થઇ છે. સારવાર કરી રહેલ ડૉક્ટર અનુસાર તેમને ખતરાથી બહાર છે, પરંતુ તેમના કપાળમાં છ ટાંકા આવ્યા છે. થરૂર મંદિરમાં તુલાભરમ પૂજા કરી રહ્યા હતા.

તુલાભરમ એવી પૂજા છે જે માત્ર અમુક જ મંદિરોમાં જ થાય છે. આ પૂજામાં તમારા વજન પ્રમાણે ચઢાવો ચડવામાં આવે છે. દેવી-દેવતાને જે કઇં અર્પિત કરવું છે. તેને પહેલા તામર વજનના બરાબર તોલવામાં આવે છે. મંદિરમાં વજન માટે મોટા મોટા મશી લાગેલા હોય છે.
