અક્ષય કુમારની પેડમેન ફિલ્મે સમાજ માટે એક યોગ્ય ઉદાહરણ પૂરું પાડ્યું હતું. પેડ વિશેની જાણકારી ફેલાવવાનું આવું જ એક યોગ્ય કામ પુણેના સચિને કરી બતાવ્યું છે.
સચિન પુણેમાં સમાજબંધ નામનું ઓર્ગેનાઈઝેશન ચલાવે છે. સચિન જુના કપડામાંથી સેનીટરી નેપકીન બનાવે છે અને જરૂરિયાતમંદ મહિલાને આપે છે.

સમાજબંધના ફાઉન્ડર સચિને જણાવ્યું હતું કે મેં બે વર્ષ પહેલા આ કામ ચાલુ કર્યું હતું. આજે અમે ૨૦૦૦થી પણ વધારે મહિલાઓ સુધી પહોચી ગયા છે.
Sachin: I contact people via social media and request them to donate us old clothes. Women who we give pads are poor&can't buy pads from market. We try to create awareness among them. સોશ્યલ મીડિયાએ આ કામમાં ઘણી અગત્યની ભૂમિકા ભજવી હતી. વધુમાં તેમણે કહ્યું હતું કે અમે સોશ્યલ મીડિયા દ્વારા લોકોને જુના કપડા આપવા માટે વિનંતી કરીએ છીએ. જુના કપડામાંથી અમે પેડ બનાવીએ છીએ. જે મહિલાઓ માર્કેટમાંથી પેડ ખરીદવા માટે સક્ષમ નથી તે લોકો સુધી અમે આ સેનીટરી નેપકીન પહોચાડીએ છીએ.
જરૂરિયાત મંદ મહિલાઓને અમે ફ્રીમાં પેડ આપીએ છીએ. એટલું જ નહી પણ જુના કપડામાંથી સેનીટરી નેપકીન કેવી રીતે બનાવાય તે પણ શીખવાડીએ છીએ.
