The University Grants Commission (UGC) has changed the criteria for qualifying the National Eligibility Test (NET), conducted to determine qualification for appointment as faculty and grant of research fellowship.As per the revised criteria, only 6% of the candidates who take the test would now be declared as qualified.Earlier, top 15% of the candidates in each subject and category, who obtained the minimum required marks according to the category of the candidates were declared qualified.
